Content Guidelines

1. Who This Applies To

These Guidelines apply to everyone who accesses the Services and to every piece of content created, uploaded, stored, shared, or published through the Services, including content that is private to your account. They also apply to your conduct on any official community spaces we operate (Discord, Reddit, social channels), and to communications with our team.

2. 18+ Only. No Exceptions.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater) to use the Services. See our Age Verification Policy for details on how we confirm age and what records we keep. Lying about your age, bypassing the age gate, or assisting a minor to access the Services is a material violation and will result in termination.

3. Absolutely Prohibited (Zero-Tolerance)

These categories are never permitted. Attempting to generate, solicit, request, share, store, publish, or extract the following will result in immediate account termination, preservation of relevant records, and, where applicable, referral to law enforcement and to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (“NCMEC”).

• Minors in sexual contexts, period.Any sexual, suggestive, or exploitative depiction, description, or framing of a real or fictional character who is, appears to be, or is presented as under 18, including characters who are “aged up,” “immortal but childlike,” drawn in a child-like style (“loli”/“shota”), or otherwise implied to be minors. This includes grooming narratives, sexualized family dynamics between adults and non-adults, and any content that could be mistaken for child sexual abuse material under U.S. law.
• Non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII) of real people. Any content, whether generated, edited, or uploaded, that depicts or appears to depict an identifiable real person in sexual or sexually suggestive conduct without that person’s verifiable, specific, revocable consent. This includes “deepfakes” and any digital forgery covered by the TAKE IT DOWN Act.
• Sexual exploitation of real people generally. Sexual content depicting identifiable real people, celebrities, public figures, friends, family, coworkers, or any private individual without their documented, informed consent.
• Bestiality involving real-world animals. Sex with fictional fantasy creatures (for example, a werewolf in human form) is not bestiality for these purposes.
• Incest between adults and non-adults in any form or framing.
• Snuff, vore, scat, or sexualized gore where the subject is seriously or permanently harmed, mutilated, killed, or used as the primary vehicle of titillation through their suffering without their in-fiction consent or thrill.
• Real-world sex trafficking, prostitution, or commercial sexual exploitation. The Services may not be used to advertise, solicit, recruit, or coordinate real-world sex work, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1591 and FOSTA-SESTA.
• Real-world violence, terrorism, or self-harm. Operational instructions for producing weapons capable of mass casualty, improvised explosives, chemical or biological weapons, or detailed guides for self-harm, eating disorders, or suicide are prohibited.
• Illegal substances, weapons, and other unlawful activity. Detailed instructions for the synthesis, manufacture, or trafficking of controlled substances, or for other serious crimes, are prohibited.
• Doxing, threats, stalking, and harassment. Posting or soliciting a real person’s non-public contact information, targeting individuals for coordinated harassment, or making credible threats of violence.
• Hate content. Content that dehumanizes, celebrates violence against, or denies the humanity of a group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, or similar characteristic. Adult fantasy themes involving power dynamics or cultural archetypes are allowed only where they do not cross into real-world hate.
• CSAM triage. If you believe you have encountered apparent child sexual abuse material on the Services, do not download or forward it; report immediately at safety@afterdark.ai. We will take immediate protective action and report to NCMEC as required by law.

4. Restricted or Requires Care

These areas are allowed with meaningful constraints. We may apply labels, filters, reduced distribution, or remove content in these categories depending on intent, framing, and detail.

• Dubious consent / ravishment.Fantasy with consent-play, “CNC,” or forced seduction is allowed between adult characters and where the intent is shared fantasy, not the glorification of real assault. Depictions that treat serious real-world violence as sexually gratifying, or that reduce the receiving character to a silent victim who receives no thrill, will be removed.
• BDSM, power exchange, and kink. Welcome between adults. Themes like Dom/sub, D/s dynamics, discipline, restraint, impact, and edge-play are in-bounds when framed with adult agency. Content that reads as operational instructions for real-world unsafe practice may be restricted.
• Dark romance, horror, and supernatural. Welcome. Characters may die or be harmed; death and suffering should not be the primary sexual payload.
• Fan-style fiction. Allowed for fictional characters, settings, and archetypes. Sexual content involving real performers portraying characters, real public figures, or clearly identifiable real persons is prohibited.
• Public / community features. Content you choose to publish on the Services must additionally follow our community standards (non-spam, correctly tagged, no plagiarism) and may be subject to a more conservative bar than private content.

5. Clearly Allowed

• Original fiction between adult characters of any orientation, gender, or relationship structure.
• Slow-burn romance, dark romance, forbidden tension, confession, seduction, reunion, second-chance, and other emotional tropes.
• Fantasy worldbuilding, sci-fi seduction, supernatural romance, and speculative settings.
• Adult kink between consenting adult characters, including BDSM, power dynamics, and roleplay scenarios.
• Custom characters, recurring characters, chaptered stories, and private confessions.
• Remixing and continuing your own stories, and (where allowed) remixing content other users have published.

6. Identity & Impersonation

Do not impersonate another user, creator, employee, or brand. Do not falsely attribute your content to another person. Your profile, username, and avatar must not be deceptive. Accounts that exist primarily to impersonate, harass, or farm engagement will be removed.

7. Don’t Circumvent Safety

Do not attempt to evade, weaken, or defeat our safety systems, including by jailbreak prompts, obfuscated encodings, prompt injection, age-gate bypasses, or the use of proxies to hide your location. Repeated circumvention attempts are grounds for termination even when the underlying content would otherwise be allowed.

8. How We Enforce

We use layered enforcement: automated classifiers, retrieval filtering, policy prompts within the model stack, human review of reports, and trust-and-safety escalation. Depending on severity and recidivism, enforcement may include:

• Warning or in-product nudge.
• Content removal and hashing to prevent re-upload.
• Feature restriction (for example, disabling image generation).
• Temporary suspension.
• Permanent termination of the account.
• Device-, payment-, or IP-level block.
• Preservation of records and referral to law enforcement and NCMEC where appropriate.

9. Appeals

If you believe we acted in error, email complaints@afterdark.ai within 30 days with your account identifier, the decision you are appealing, and your explanation. A trust-and-safety reviewer not involved in the original decision will review your appeal. We typically respond within 7 business days.

10. How to Report

Report violations using any of the channels below.

• In-product: use the report button on a story, character, comment, profile, or chat message.
• Content & safety: abuse@afterdark.ai
• Apparent CSAM: safety@afterdark.ai (do not download or reshare the content; include only the URL or story ID).
• NCII of an identifiable person: see our NCII reporting path. We act on valid requests within 48 hours of verified notice.
• Copyright / trademark: see our DMCA & Complaints page.

11. Updates to These Guidelines

We update these Guidelines periodically to reflect evolving law, norms, and product surface area. Material changes will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
