Delete account & data requests

1. In-product (fastest)

Delete a single story or character

1. Open the story or character from your private library.
2. Open the options menu (⋯) and choose Delete.
3. Confirm in the dialog. The item is removed from active systems immediately and purged from backups within 90 days.

Delete your account

1. Go to Settings → Account → Delete account.
2. Enter your password and confirm. You will receive a confirmation email with a 14-day undo window, after which deletion is final.
3. Your library, prompts, images, comments, and profile are removed from active systems within 30 days.

Export your data

1. Go to Settings → Privacy → Export my data.
2. We prepare a ZIP archive containing your profile, stories, characters, and metadata in human-readable and machine-readable formats (JSON + plain text).
3. We notify you by email when the archive is ready; the download link is valid for 7 days.

2. By email: full data subject request

If you prefer to submit a written request, or if you need to exercise a right that is not exposed in-product, email privacy@afterdark.ai using the template below.

3. By mail

You may also submit a written request by certified mail to: Riley Ventures LLC d/b/a Acme Studio, Attn: Privacy, 1615 S Congress Ave, Ste 103, Delray Beach, FL 33445. Include your account email and the specific right you are exercising.

4. How we verify your identity

To protect your account we will verify the request in a manner proportionate to the sensitivity of the data requested. Depending on the request, that may mean:

• Confirming the request from the account email on file.
• Asking you to sign in and confirm a prompt in-product.
• Requesting additional information that only the account holder would know.
• For particularly sensitive access requests, additional identity verification.

5. Response timelines

• CCPA / CPRA (California): we acknowledge within 10 business days and substantively respond within 45 days (extendable by 45 additional days with notice).
• GDPR / UK GDPR: within 1 month (extendable by 2 additional months for complex requests with notice).
• Other U.S. state laws (VCDPA, CPA, CTDPA, UCPA, TDPSA, OCPA, MCDPA, ICDPA, TIPA, etc.): within the period required by the applicable law, generally 45 days.
• In-product delete is effective immediately in active systems.

6. What we must keep after deletion

Even after account deletion, a small set of data may be retained where required by law or for legitimate defensive purposes:

• Age-verification audit tokens for the period required by applicable state law (up to 7 years).
• Safety records related to serious policy violations (for example, CSAM referrals), for the period required by law.
• Financial and tax records, typically 7 years.
• Anti-fraud signals (hashed identifiers of terminated bad-actor accounts) to prevent re-registration.

These records are stored separately, with restricted access, and cannot be used to contact you or reconstruct your library.

7. Authorized agents

You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We require written, signed authorization and may contact you to verify. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.

8. Appealing a decision

If we decline a request, in whole or in part, we will explain why. Residents of states that provide a right of appeal may email privacy@afterdark.ai with the subject “Privacy Appeal” within 45 days; we will respond within the period required by the applicable law. You may also lodge a complaint with your state attorney general or (in the EEA/UK) your local data protection authority.
